The retreat lies in its own private kingdom of 50 acres and enjoys spectacular views towards Norfolk Inlet with mountain backdrop - a 'perfect picture box scene' where the light and mood changes constantly.
The retreat adjoins Wildwood (our home) that is a substantial property., long and thin and the retreat is on the East side facing N/NE. The retreat is fully self-contained with its own private driveway, garden area and entry so that guests can enjoy absolute privacy and come and go at their leisure.
The retreat bedroom is extremely spacious with floor to ceiling windows. There is a European Kingsize Bed, BIR, contemporary desk and leather recliner. The bedroom also has an ample ensuite with underfloor heating, heated towel rail, free standing bath and walk in shower. with bi-fold windows by the bath that overlook the view. A hairdryer, robes, Tasmanian-made soaps and bath bubbles are also provided. Quality bedlinen and towels are provided throughout, including bath towels.
There is a beautiful modern stainless steel and timber spiral staircase in the retreat lobby/entry area that leads guests up to the spacious contemporary open plan living/kitchen/dining area on the second level (though almost three storeys high) that has cathedral windows to maximise the spectacular views - guests will feel as if they are literally floating amongst the treetops - a perfect place to relax, de-stress and commune with nature!
The kitchen has composite stone bench tops, quality stainless steel appliances including a Smeg Oven and cooktop, a Delonghi coffee machine, Electrolux stainless steel fridge/freezer and Bosh dishwasher.. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and provisions include quality Lavazza coffee, coffee pods, a range of quality teas plus some pantry basics.
The open plan living/kitchen/dining area has dining seating for up to 4 guests and two 2 1/2 seater sofas - one of which is a sofa bed (double). There is also a large flat screen TV with Boxee and DVD, a Bose Music system with i-pod connection, plus a small DVD library, quality magazines and a small selection of games. Original art works and limited edition prints also feature at the property.
Wildwood Retreat enjoys a 7 star energy rating. The property is clad on the exterior in stunning spotted gum sourced sustainably. We have also used 'eco' and recycled products wherever possible, including Wildwood's entry door that is bespoke and constructed using recycled timbers. Recycling is encouraged at the property, and we have also included a compost bin for vegetable scraps.

PROVISIONS
Wildwood has its own fully equipped kitchen and ordinarily guests are expected to bring their own provisions. However a breakfast hamper may be available on request if ordered in advance, subject to availability at an extra cost.. The retreat also has a partially stocked pantry of basics for guests use including salt, pepper, quality teas, coffee, sugar, olive oil, herbs and spices.
Access
The retreat is not suitable for people with physical challenges. The area around the immediate property is relatively flat, however beyond that area, the land is steep, and there are terraced gardens and stone steps. The ground beyond the retreat itself is also uneven and there is an open dam.
Internally the retreat has a spiral staircase connecting the bedroom and living areas.
